Betty in Wonderland Tea Party

Welcome back to the Mad Tea Party Release with Simply B Stamps and Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  If you’re just joining in on the celebration we have a 3-day event with games, sales/discounts, prizes, a freebie, a blog hop, tutorials and lots of inspiration!  This is one event that you don’t want to miss out on!  😀  Check out all the details at the LMMS Blog or SBS Blog.  This is Day 2 and today we’re sharing tips, tutorials and inspirational cards.

My project today combines images from both companies to create a generic Birthday card.  Along with chipboard from Make it Crafty, buttons/flowers from Stampin’ Up and a zipper from my local craft store, here are the elements I merged together to create this image …

My tip I wanted to share today was about casting shadows.  I’m starting to get more brave when coloring in shadows and I think it’s something you can do to… the hardest part is taking the first plunge!  On this image here I’ve used Copic color BV23 and sometimes I’ll use BV25 if I don’t think the shadows is showing up.  However, you can start out with BV20.  When applying shadows I try to remember when my light source is coming from then I draw the shadow (no blending needed) where needed.  This is done after I’ve colored my entire project.  The purple-gray color seems to overlay on other colors well without standing out too much.

That’s my inspiration and tip for today and I hope it was helpful and inspiring.  😀  Next you can head back over to the the LMMS Blog or SBS Blog and check out the other gal’s fabulous creations!  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you’ll take the plunge and try shadows on your next project!  😀

Betty Queen of Hearts Tea Party

Let’s have a wonderland type of day with a Blog Hop!!  To day is the start of a huge combined release between Simply B Stamps and Little Miss Muffet Stamps and we’re having a 3-day Tea Party!!

You should have arrived here from RACHEL’S radical blog!!
(For the full Blog Hop list, click HERE or HERE.)

Each day we’ll have something new for you to drool over and to keep up on all the events you can visit the LMM Blog to get started.  I won’t spoil all the details but I will say there will be games, ten hidden prizes, free digi and up to 70% off when you buy one of the combination mega packs!!  It’s big!  Very BIG!  And it all starts today!!

My first project uses Betty Queen of Hearts from Simply B Stamps plus the For Alyce Sentiment which I wrapped around the balloons.  Then I used several Little Miss Muffet stamps and came up with this merged scene.  I even used the LMMS Party Banner Diecut!  All of these images are listed here and were to find them…

The floor was actually an idea from a striped pattern paper in the same paper pack that I had originally planned to use, however, all the patterns combined started to get super busy and it didn’t even make it close to the card.  😦  I was worried that it would look out of place but now that I see it in 2D form, I think it worked out ok.  The table that the desserts are sitting on is actually a table tiered tray!  LOL  But that’s the benefits of working with digital stamps and that tiered dish easily became a fancy dessert table!  Yummy!

In addition to the release today, this blog has actually hit a milestone of 1000 posts!  Can you believe it?  I have 27 of those in draft mode but this one is the official one-thousandth post.  I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the release!!

You’re next stop in the hop is TRISH’S terrific blog!
And remember to leave your comments along the way for chances to win prizes!

Lil’ Bunny and Puppy Additions

Happy Easter!  It’s Easter Sunday and I wanted to share a project that is just perfect for today!  Plus I have some great news about a new image available at Little Miss Muffet Stamps that you don’t want to miss out on – it has been posted today at a fantastic low price of $1.00 and you can take advantage of that special all day!  However, before we get to those details, here’s the card I wanted to share today…

This project uses Swings ‘n Slides Lil’ Bunny, drawn by Pollycraft, and also Puppy Additions, both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  I thought they looked adorable together and wanted to create a simple card for then to shine on.  I’ve always had a soft spot for pink gingham patterns and when I found this paper in my stash I had to use it!  So with that, combined with dark chocolate brown, became the inspiration for the colors on this card.

With adorable pink paper like that, I didn’t want to cover it up so I kept the embellishments to a minimum with chipboard from Make it Crafty, twine and a little charm.  I was actually going to make this card with just the little girl but something felt missing… and that’s when I decided to add the little puppy which was just what the card needed.  Now these two friends are ready to head out in the backyard and look for hidden eggs.  😀

I also have a little Easter surprise and another fun image to play around with!  This is the image I mentioned above which will be at the special price today of $1.00 so scoop this one up while you can.  Just in time for Easter this cute image is called Easter Bunny Hiding and is also perfect to use in the current LMM Challenge.  😀

You can click on the image above to find the Easter bunny in the store or you can click HERE to read about the details of the release on the LMM Challenge Blog.  Thanks for coming by today and I hope you’re having a wonderful Easter day filled with coloring, family and chocolate!  Happy Easter!!

Celeste Amberglow Farmin’ Apples

Welcome back for a little inspiration today using a Little Miss Muffet Stamp.  We have such a huge release next week that we’re taking a relaxing break today and showing off anything we want.  😀  So be sure to check out the LMMS Challenge Blog for all the other fabulous creations and mark us down in your calendars for next week, April 4th, as it’s going to be huge!!

For my project today, I’ve used Celeste Amberglow Farmin’ Apples from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  She is such an adorable chickie and I couldn’t resit the farm paper pack I found in my stash.  Most of my papers in that stash are 6×6 pads and include anything from K&Company, My Mind’s Eye, Crate Paper, Echo Park Paper, Jillybean Soup, BasicGrey, Cosmo Cricket and the list goes on… I’m not picky and just grab anything that appeals to me.  He he he

The chipboard embellishments from Make it Crafty were colored with Prismacolor Pencils to match the paper and also to help the butterflies stand out against the busy paper.  I simply grabbed reds, oranges and yellows and blended them together until it wouldn’t take any more!  Here’s a close up of Celeste Amberglow with her lovely green apples… an nope, it’s not poisonous (that would be red and her evil counterpart).

Thanks for dropping by today and I hoe you’ve enjoyed this project.  It’s been a busy week but I’m looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend – I just need to get through this day and then school will be out for the weekend (my kids included).  Yeah!  I’m soooo looking forward to a 3-day weekend!!  Have a wonderful time coloring and hope you’re weekend is approaching soon too!

Celeste Amberglow Egg Hunt

‘Tis the season for Easter projects and I couldn’t resist suing this image today for the new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  The challenge theme is “Happy Easter” and that always reminds me of bright neon spring colors.  So I found the closest paper I had to that and pulled colors from that.  Here’s what I came up with…

The images I used are Celeste Amberglow Egg Hunt from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and drawn by Pollycraft.  The sentiment is a Kid’s Quote from Inkadinkadoo and I thought it was a perfect Easter theme… especially with a basket full of chocolate eggs!   😀  The friend, of course, is the little chick.  I also used some chippies from Make it Crafty scattered Dew Drops for more color.

Here’s a close up of Celeste Amberglow Egg Hunt.  For the white, I’ve started to use C3 and just draw and shadow on the edges with no blending.  It’s been working out really well on some projects and I like it here too – however, I blended a little bit on the band part.  The colors of her face is a new combination too… I’ve used E000, E00, E21, E30, E31; blush R11, R12; and for shadow BV23.

Thanks for coming by the blog today!  I hope you get a chance to head over to the LMM Challenge blog and see all the other fabulous designs created by the DT – they’re awesome!  Then grab your favorite Easter stamps and come play along in the challenge this week – and bonus points if it’s a Little Miss Muffet or Pollycraft image!  😀

Gargoyles

It’s Monday and there is a new challenge over at Cupcake Craft Challenges and the theme this week is all about “Mythical Creatures.”  But there’s more!  Little Miss Muffet Stamps is sponsoring this week’s challenge so that’s a double reason to join in.  😀  So naturally I wanted to join in too and I took inspiration from one of Faye’s card and came up with this one…

The stamps I used are the three gargoyles from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.. .Krill the Gargoyle , Laplem the Gargoyle and Naw the Gargoyle.  Then the butterflies and the sentiment stamp are from Whimsy and part of the Notables stamps and dies collection and the butterflies are even from that too.  The rest of the card is made up of the basics paper, glue and sewing.  😀

Here’s one of the gargoyles close up so you can see how easy he was to color.  I was aiming for an old statue look as if they’ve been on the building for centuries … but then the eyes with a glowing green/yellow as if they’re just about to come to life!  😀  I used the Warm gray colors and dotted in texture from the darkest color to the lightest.  By time I got up to W1 then I just colored in the rest.  Then I used YG91 to add some green moss color in random areas.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
ABC Challenges – J for Just as you Like it
Oozak March Challenge – Anything Goes

My daughter also has a card to share!  This one uses another label stamp from Whimsy and then she added a heart-shaped pocket for candy – sounds like a yummy card to me!  The form stars were taped on and this one she lovingly gave to her teacher.  She’s so sweat!  (Um…. both my daughter and her teacher!)
