Mice are Nice

Mice ARE nice, aren’t they?  Especially when they’re wrapping gifts and celebrating in your behalf such as these little mice are.  😀  And the best part about it was I didn’t have to do any coloring.  LOL  How’s that?  Well, I had ordered a sheet of pre-colored images from Lili of the Valley and they were perfect for a quick project!  Check it out…

The diecut sheet is from Mice are Nice from Lili of the Valley.  There are six images on the sheet and I used the basic layout for each of them and made a card.  So once a week I’ll post another card and you can see them all.  😀  Enjoy!

Carol Signing

Here’s a fun card I did for the Make it Colourful challenge where the theme is to have a single light source … aka a “Candlelight or Lantern.” This is one of the images I got last year and promised myself I’d use it this year! The image is Carol Signing from Lili of the Valley and I should have included a Make it Crafty chippie or something so it would count. LOL But alas… here it is anyway …

The background was created by flicking and blending in N0, N2, N3 and BG91, BG93 and BG95. All the strokes were towards the light and in the end I like how it turne out – looks like it really is shining. Then after the image was complete, I used a white gel pen and white acrlic paint to add the snow and highlights.

The card is pretty simple – just some DP and ribbon but the image was already busy enough to keep it’s own focus. This was a fun experiment and next time I think I’ll try to make the sky and shadows darker – or perhaps I’ll try a candle? We’ll see. I’m also entering this into the Lili of the Valley Challenge #120 (Creature Comforts). Hope you like this fun image and a happy early holidays! 😀

Update: My card was featured at Lili of the Valley for this challenge!

Me and My Cat

The challenge is to create a card or project based on the sketch provided and use a Lili of the Valley Stamp or Diecut Image. I used a precolored diecut image and sent it through the press to give it a fun shape and added the sentiment.

Here’s another card sample gone bad, but this time on the coloring. I had used Gina K. Pure Luxury cardstock and over saturated the face and hair which resulted in streaks and blotches. It wouldn’t be something I’d send in the mail so I swapped out the image for something else.
