Outlaw Luka

How about another addition to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly?!  This time, we’ve got Outlaw Luka from La La Land Crafts coming at you from The Bad side of town and he’s ready to rock and roll!  I’m love how the zipper ribbon worked and thought it was perfect to finish the card off with style; no other embellishments needed.  I’ve added this into the LaLa Land Customer Gallery.

I started coloring this image with the face in case I messed up then I could easily start over without loosing too much.  This little guy has gone totally Gothic so I used lighter skin tones and then added in the black shading around the eyes.  There are two tattoos, one on the arm (a cross and bones skull) and the one of the face (inspired by Mike Tyson’s facial tattoo).  These were done last with Copic W9 after all the skin tone was colored.  I also added body piercings where easily done with a White Gel pen then recolored with the Copic markers – another element that can be done after all the shading and coloring is finished.

The background was done with reds, oranges, blacks and a little blues.  Basically I started from the top and dragged the colors down until the whole background was colored.  The reds and oranges I used for darken up the background and also adding vertical interest.  Since I was watching Ghost Rider at the same time, I was inspired to add a some flames to the bike wheel.  He he he  Then for some extra details added the dirt flying up from the wheel which also gives it a sense of motion.  Besides, how else did the back wall get so dirty?!

Fancy Marci

Remember the skin tone step-by-step guide I did a couple days ago using a La-La Land Craft image?  We’ll, as promised I finally put her on a card and wanted to share it with you this weekend.  To see the tutorial just click HERE and that even shows all the Copic colors I used on this sweetie.   Check out my finished project which is both perfect for Valentines and spring…

Isn’t she just adorable!  The images I used are Fancy Marci from La-La Land Crafts and That’s the Ticket stamp and punch from Stampin’ Up! The dragonfly chipboard embellishments are from Make it Crafty in a set called Dragonflies (of course!  LOL).

For the hexagon aspect, I used a beehive stencil and sprayed Iridescent Spray & Sparkle over the background.  (Thank you Ruby!!)  The light reflects on it and really adds an interesting element.  I’ve also colored the chipboard dragonflies and covered the wings with pink Stickles.

QUESTION: Some of you may be wondering if coloring Marci with a facial personality is allowed – and the ANSWER is: YES of course!!  The terms of use state no altering of the image so I’ve deliberately left the line art alone and printed the image the way it downloaded – nothing was change.  Now I can safely color using only Copic markers and some “mad coloring skills.”  Also check the other awesome examples on the La-La Land Crafts Blog that show fantastic ways to use your coloring!  Such as plaids, fuzzy texture, camouflage, hair strands and fabric folds – there so much you can do with your Copics and that’s what makes them so fun!!

Fancy Marci

Good morning!  In light of Black History Month I thought I would share a combination of skin tones using my Copic markers and give a step-by-step on how to use them.  For this image I went with a dark brown skin tone and you might be surprised at what colors I used for blush!  This image is Fancy Marci from La-La Land Crafts and I’ll make a card with her later on this week and share it once it’s finished.

Update: See the finished project HERE.  😀

Because the LLLC images come with a pupil, I started out coloring the iris so Marci could be watching me color.  Plus it also helped me to define the areas I should not color with the skin tone.  From the bottom going up, I added the colors listed on the side – starting with the darkest colors and working my way up to the lightest.

Then for blush and her lips, instead of using pink, I prefer to use a slightly brown-ish or orange-ish color which blends better with the brown – in this case it was R02 and E04.  Lastly, shadows were given with W5 and W6.  The colors for the dress were selected by glancing at my stack of Valentine papers on my desk so that’s a pretty sure guess at what theme the finished card will look like!  LOL  Until then, enjoy and hope this color combination helps you figure out your next project.  ;D

Pilgram Luka & Marci

It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the US and also release day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps which I’m excited for both!  I would have loved to have a LMMS project to show but at least you can head over there too today and see what anew rubber and digital stamps have been released this week – plus you can take advantage of the “out of town” promotion that is going on right now.  😀  Anyway, I actually have a project to share which I had colored and created last year.  Can you believe I’ve been holding on to it for that long?  But it’s a perfect card to say “Happy Thanksgiving” with!

For this project I used Pilgrim Marci & Luka from La-La Land Crafts and you may or may not recognize them as I has a little fun coloring their faces and giving them som character instead of the blank look they normally have.  Not everyone likes them this way but I guess it’s up to you… what do you think?  Yea or Neah?

Here are the Copic markers I used on this project:  N0, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6, N7, N8, E59, E57, E55, E53, E21, E00, E000, E04, R11, R12, YR14, E08, E19, E59, B91, B93, B97, YG61, YG63, YG67, Y23, Y26, Y28, R14, R27, R46, V12, V15, V17

I hoe everyone is having a wonderful week (wether or not it’s Thanksgiving in your area) and just wanted to gush out with Thankfullness while I had the opportunity.  I never would have imaginged that I could have so many friends on the internet and I’m so thankful to everyone!  I’m thanksful for your comments and encouragement!  Thank you, thank you!!  *Hugs

Winter Marci

It’s time to announce last week’s Blog Candy winner and thank you to everyone who participated.  😀  The little Krafin’ Kimmie stamp is waiting for a new home so I’ve used random.org to pick a lucky winner and that person is…

Congratulations!  My email is on the sidebar and you can send me your mailing address.   😀

For my project today I’m showing a card that I had created last winter using Winter Marci from La-la Land Crafts that I purchased and combined her with Winter Sleigh from Make it Crafty. The ticket sentiment is from Whimsy as well as the coordinating diecut – been loving that combo!

It’s been so long since I’ve colored this but if you can believe I have the list of Copic colors I used on card!  Woah, is right!  LOL  But thanks to Sandie I was able to keep a list and here they are…

Copic Colors: R21, R14, R17, R37, R46, R59, YG61, YG63, YG67, B000, B00, B01, 0, E000, E00, E11, E13, E53, E04, YR14, E08, E19, E59, E55, E57, E59, E50, E51, E53, E70, E71, E74, C1, C3

For this card I was going for the white on white look with a colored image but I think my image is so large that it doesn’t really fit in the catagory.  However, almost everything else is white so it counts in the game of horseshoes, right?  LOL  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you’ve enjoyed this winter scene.

Autumn Marci

It’s “almost” winter here in Texas – at least, we had our first snow fall this week! It didn’t stick long and it was only a short time before it quickly turned to sleet. But that’s my excuse for this winter card and I’m sticking to it! LOL

For my project I used Autumn Marci and Garden Bench from La-La Land Crafts which I purchased back in January. I also used the Festive Lantern and Present in the Festive Elements Collection from Make it Crafty. Check out Marci’s face… isn’t it adorable! Out of all the ones I colored, so far this one turned out to be my favorite. 😀

I used all the cool colors on this project plus a few beaded snowflakes from my collection as embellishments. The rest of the card was simple enough and with the dots of snow falling it gave the perfect chilly feeling. Brrrr… time for some hot cocoa!

Copic Colors: V91, V93, V95, V99, R17, R46, YR30, YR31, YG61, YG63, YG67, BG18, BG15, BG13, BG11, BG10, B01, B00, B000, B0000, B91, B93, B95, B97, E34, E25, E27, E04, R11, R12, E70, E70, E74, E77, E79, W2, W4, W6, W8, C1, C3, C5, C7
