Handy Ian

I made this card using Handy Ian from The Greeting Farm. The challenge is to CASE the card or project provided and the other challenge used is a birthday theme. Although it’s a great card for my Dad, it did not pass the “Yah, it’s a boy card” challenge from my husband. The verdict? “It made me go ‘Ah, that’s cute.'” But I used it for a masculine challenge anyway.

Did you know? The Norcon pillbox is a type of hardened field fortification built in Britain during the invasion crisis of 1940-1941. It was a small circular pillbox named after the company that manufactured it as a private commercial venture. It was regarded as “possibly the most dangerous, cheap and nasty of all pillbox designs”. Twenty-seven pillbox sites are recorded in the Defense of Britain database.

Depending on the type of paper you use to color on with your Copic markers, the marker might bleed through to the other side. I always have a pad of paper or white cardboard under my image for this reason, as I’m sure most of you do. However, be careful not to use the same area too often as the colors can sometimes bleed back up through the paper. I discovered this while coloring a light yellow and the dark red from my sketch pad came up to say hello!

Flirty Anya

I made this card using Flirty Anya from The Greeting Farm. The challenge is to CASE the card provided by Club Anya and Friend’s return to Monday Mania. The card chosen just so happened to be my Mom’s card from Grandma’s Pearl! I didn’t intentionally choose the same Anya stamp but it spoke to me the most. So instead of using flower, I used buttons to change it a bit.

Did you know? A Bering Strait crossing is a hypothetical bridge or tunnel spanning the relatively narrow and shallow Bering Strait between the Chukotka Peninsula in Russia and the Seward Peninsula in Alaska. If the mainlands would be joined together by bridges, then the bridges would measure a total distance of about 80 km (50 miles).

I made this card using Henry Christmas Mouse from Whiff of Joy. I’ve created the ruffled scalloped edge before on another card and this time I have provided instructions using this card.

Did you know? Iron(III) oxide is the inorganic compound and is of one of the three main oxides of iron. Rust is often called iron(III) oxide, and to some extent, this label is useful, because rust shares several properties and has a similar composition. To a chemist, rust is considered an ill-defined material, described as hydrated ferric oxide.

Tutu Sweet

I made this card using Tutu Sweet from Meljen’s Designs. The challenges are to create a card or project using pretty pearls and autumn colors. The background makes it hard to see but yep, there are pearls on there.
