Outlaw Luka

How about another addition to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly?!  This time, we’ve got Outlaw Luka from La La Land Crafts coming at you from The Bad side of town and he’s ready to rock and roll!  I’m love how the zipper ribbon worked and thought it was perfect to finish the card off with style; no other embellishments needed.  I’ve added this into the LaLa Land Customer Gallery.

I started coloring this image with the face in case I messed up then I could easily start over without loosing too much.  This little guy has gone totally Gothic so I used lighter skin tones and then added in the black shading around the eyes.  There are two tattoos, one on the arm (a cross and bones skull) and the one of the face (inspired by Mike Tyson’s facial tattoo).  These were done last with Copic W9 after all the skin tone was colored.  I also added body piercings where easily done with a White Gel pen then recolored with the Copic markers – another element that can be done after all the shading and coloring is finished.

The background was done with reds, oranges, blacks and a little blues.  Basically I started from the top and dragged the colors down until the whole background was colored.  The reds and oranges I used for darken up the background and also adding vertical interest.  Since I was watching Ghost Rider at the same time, I was inspired to add a some flames to the bike wheel.  He he he  Then for some extra details added the dirt flying up from the wheel which also gives it a sense of motion.  Besides, how else did the back wall get so dirty?!

I’d like to enter this into the following challenges:
Stampin’ for the Weekend – Child’s Play
Delightful Challenges – One for the Boys
City Crafter Challenge #150 – Song Inspired (“Bad to the Bone”)
Through the Craftoom Door – Anything Goes
MyGrafico Challenge #147 – Anything Goes
No Matter Which Challenge #7 – Anything Goes

Update: I’ve been spotlighted at City Crafter’s for this project!

Jackie and the Egyptian Pyramids

Come join the celebration with a combined release!!  Make it Crafty and Tiddly Inks have joined together to bring you an Egyptian theme!!  Everyone has done a fabulous job with their projects and you don’t want to miss out on the games with lots of prizes too.  You have arrived on Day 2 of the hop and for all the details on the hop visit the main site HERE.  But before you go, check out this project…

For my project I merged together Jackie and Jackal from Tiddly Inks with the Egyptian Pyramids in the background from Make it Crafty.  I brought Jackie up into the foreground because I really wanted to focus on her and get some details colored in her face.  Then I also wanted to do something different in the background and settled on a pink sky instead of the traditional blue.

For the card I didn’t want to add too much to distract from the main image so I found a good decorative paper that worked out to take the place of embellishments.  Then I added a clock face to fill in an empty space and some ribbon to complete it.  Oh, and yes, I had to use the sewing machine around the border too.  ;D  Here’s the image up close…

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you’ve enjoyed my project!  If you haven’t already you’ll want to be sure to hop around and check out what everyone else has created too!  Remember, this is Day 2 of the hop and for all the details on the hop visit the main site HERE.  See ya later!

Sonny Honeycloud Poetry

Check it out we have new releases over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and tons of fabulous projects showing up over at the Little Miss Muffet Challenges Blog!  There are many new rubber stamps added to the store and today we’re adding three more!!  The DT gals and I are also featuring images from the last release and you can see them all in the What’s New section at LMMS.

For my project I used Sonny Honeycloud Poetry rubber stamp and paired her with the Party Banner Diecut, both from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Then the sentiment is Just Wanted to Say from Make it Crafty along with the chipboard embellishment.  The layout of the card is actually CASE’d from Mary J who created a beautiful birthday card.  Thanks Mary for the inspiration!

I have loved using the rubber stamps lately because I can stamp them in brown and/or choose my favorite papers to color on – I think the colors are coming out so much more vibrant and I can spend a little more time on the details such as the shadows and the texture on her sweater.

This was one of my favorite Pollycraft images and one of the first ones I picked out – I love reading and actually just got another book from my sister that I can’t wait to get started on!  Anyway, I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration and I hope you get a chance to check out all the other projects from the DT – you can see them at the LMM Challenge Blog.  😀

Pergamano Fairie

I wanted to quickly share a project I created a while ago which I thought would be a great way to bring in Spring and March – since March always reminds me of green and flowers!  Nature is starting to turn green around my area and it’s time for me to star thinking about the flower beds and mowing the lawn again.  I think this year I’ll plant some summer bulbs including some Bleeding Hearts which apparently is a tradition to have in the yard for few generations.  ;D

The image I used on my project is a fairie by Pergamano but I don’t know the name of her nor the name of the stamp set it came in.  I have about six or eight of these cuties and have colored around half of them.  (You can click HERE to see the rest of them where I might have a stamp name listed .)

Lastly, a little bit about the background and grass.  Both are pretty easy and can be done on any project!  The grass was created by using various colors of green and making sure I used dark greens too.  Then the pink and yellow flowers were added just by grouping dots together.  After that I went back in with a white gel pen and added a few more dots for a whimsical feel.  The background of the sky was created with light blue dots.  Then I did the reverse effect from the white dots in the grass by adding yellow dots in the sky.

The project was assembled rather quickly using a generic layout that I’ve seen before.  I had fun adding felt clouds and ribbon tags.  Then just for kicks and grins, I added the movie reel ribbon – and also partly because my daughter keeps getting it down from the shelf and playing with it.  ;D

Puppy Additions

I’m excited to announce there is a rubber stamp release at Little Miss Muffet Stamps today!!  These images are perfect for spring plus a few other occasions too – including St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and everything else Spring!  I’m still stuck on Valentines day and but I picked out one of the most versatile stamps and started playing. This is what I came up with… LOVE!

The stamps I used are called Puppy Additions from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and both are included in the rubber stamp.  I sized these two so they could go well with other characters and added on to any project – however, they’re also great to use instead of embellishments – or both!

The LOVE letters are actually stickers I had found in the $1.00 section of the scrapbook store and decided they would be perfect and easy to make a card with.  Plus there just enough room to add the Puppy Additions frolicking around.  😀  Then I also added a zipper ribbon and sewed it to the card.

My daughter also feel in love with these puppies and had to color her own.  So here are the same two pups but this time all dressed up fancy for a walk in the park!  And as you can see, she was very careful to give each dog their own ball to play with – yea, none of this “sharing” business that she has to deal with at home!  LOL

Thanks for coming by and I hope you’ve enjoyed these puppies.  Make sure you get over to the LMM Challenge Blog to see the other new releases this week as I’m sure you’re going to adore them too!  Have a great weekend!
