Happy Birthday to You

Welcome to Day 18 of my Advent! Today I don’t have a holiday card but instead a birthday card. It’s another chipboard embellishment projects that I made using Happy Birthday to You from Make it Crafty.  I used the same layout that Zoe did for the Somewhere Over the Rainbow chipboard sentiment.

For the background, instead of watercolor, I thought I’d try Copic refill ink. After about 20 drops, I realized it was using as much ink as refilling a marker.  Oops!  So I did some splatter then called it good. Next time I’ll try something different.

Girl Sitting

I’ve been wanting to try out the Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces with other stamps and so for this project I pulled out some stamps by hÄnglar and stÄnglar.  I don’t know the name of their stamp and they are rare on the internet that I wasn’t able to Google it.  It might be called “Friendship” or simply “Girl Sitting” but I have no clue.  (If you do, leave a comment and I can update the name.)

Here’s a close up of the face.  To get the face stamped, I inked up the hAnglar girl then used a cotton swab to remove ink from the eye dots.  Then I selected a Polka Dot Pals Add-on Faces stamp that I thought would work best.  Some looked too large but this one fit nicely.

The sentiment I used is a Kid’s Quote by Inkadinkado.  I thought the “smile” worked to draw attention to the face.  😀  Hope you like it and thanks for dropping by today.

It’s Day 14 of my Advent Calendar and on sale is Dexter Gives and Dexter Ice Cream – each rubber stamp is only $2.50.  While supplies last and for today only! All the digital Dexter stamps are also on sale.  🙂

Breguin

Another monster from the Edward’s Crochet Imaginarium by Kerry Lord pattern book. This one was started by my sister who did the body, arms, legs and ears.  So really all I had to do was the antlers, eyes, muzzle and tail.  He’s a brother to Cauli and they will both be loved by brothers too. For his name, I wrote down all that I thought he was … penguin, deer, bunny, dragon… then used letters from each to create the name.
