Here’s my last creation for Lunar New Year. I decided to take Buddies w/Frog and just use the upper boy and have him leap frog over the Ox. This is one of my favorites. Happy Lunar New Year!

Here’s another bookmark where I combined the a character with the ox in the background. I added glitter to this one for someone who loves glitter. Um, that wouldn’t be me by the way.

Polka Dot Pals Ophelia from Whimsy Stamps

I’m interrupting the Lunar New Year cards this week for another one I created using Polka Dot Pals Ophelia. This is a good Valentine card but I’m going to be using it for a birthday card later on – or given as a promotion to a lucky customer. This marvelous girl is available at Whimsy Stamps!

This is one of those colors that sat on my table for a while and I worked on it a little here and there. After a week, she was finally finished and placed on a card. I enjoyed coloring the dress with pleats and sparkles and I also enjoyed coloring her hair with YR colors on the Desert Storm paper. I had some problems with my markers and got some great ideas and help through Facebook – so thank you everyone who responded. 😉

For this project, I added another character to the mix, and instead of a card, I made a bookmark. I stamped the character a second time on some yellow decorative paper and then cut it out for the outfit. I didn’t realize it but I think it looks like gold which was a bonus.

The next few days are a series of cards and bookmarks that I created for Lunar New Year. This one is a small card with just the ox. They’re all about the same layout so they were easy to get done in one session.

I enjoy making Lunar New Year cards for my family and this year is the Year of the Ox. So I grabbed by favorite stamps for this occasion – Sister Stamps. Last year I found a sentiments set by Mama Elephant that I added to my collection. I decided I would color them all on the Neenah Desert Storm paper and add some cherry blossoms hanging down from the top. The color inspiration for the ox came from Ferdinand the bull.
