Black and White Cats Slimline from Whimsy Stamps

Are you ready for some cat-antics? I’ve had my eye on the Black and White Cats slimline paper for a while – specifically this one with all the cat heads. I thought it would be fun to color them and then use them on a background for a project. I got to the background part but then I couldn’t find a character I wanted to place on top of it all. So I decided not to! Instead I used the Comic Speech Bubbles and added some cat jokes.

Q: How do you know a cat is agitated?
A: It’s having a hissy fit!

Q: What sports do cats play?
A: Hairball!
Q: Why do cats always get their way?
A: They are very purr-suasive!

Q: A cat’s favorite color?
A: Purr-ple!

Q: Favorite dessert?
A: Chocolate mouse!

Summer With My Gnomies from Scrappy Boy Stamps

These summer gnomes don’t just play at the beach – look what they do in the backyards too! This is the newest release from Scrappy Boy Stamps featuring stamps in the Summer With My Gnomies set.

This was actually the fourth card I colored and I was stuck on what do to – I didn’t think y’all wanted “yet another beach scene” but I knew I had to include water some how to fit the theme. I left the desk to do something else and the idea came to me for a backyard kiddy pool. Yep, that was it! I also liked that this theme plays along with the notion of all those garden gnomes sneaking around when no one is looking.

Summer With My Gnomies from Scrappy Boy Stamps

It’s another day at the beach and it looks like the sun is setting and almost time to go home – but I’m sure there is enough time to watch the sun set complete. I’m sharing another card today for the new release using Summer With My Gnomies. These were exclusively drawn by me for from Scrappy Boy Stamps.

For this card, I wanted to use both the gnome characters and create a scene. I really enjoy coloring the ocean and seaside so I used the same technique to on my previous cards to color this one up. I was eager to give them a traditional red gnome hat so I stuck with bold primary colors for the characters. Then I used the included sentiments on this card and also drew in some silhouette seagulls.

Pigs Can Fly Too from Whimsy Stamps

Sooie! Are you ready for more cuteness with the new Pigs Can Fly Too digital stamp? I was and I even have another card on my table because this little gal is so fun to play with. For this project, I chose to combine her with the fence from Polka Dot Pals Fern and reuse the Piggy Background to create this fun scene.

To make this card, I started with a card base then added a layer with the Quilted Rainbow Inlaid die. I layered that with a white paper that I colored with E04. Then on top of that is another layer with the Piggy Background stamp that I colored with R11 and R12. On top of that, I stamped the fence from Polka Dot Pals Fern on the tan paper and popped that on top.
The sentiment was created using the Bold ABC die set and AlFaDoodles clear set which were popped on top of the large Comic Speech Bubbled die. The final element is the cute Pigs Can Fly Too stamp set and some glitter glue for some sparkle.

Summer With My Gnomies from Scrappy Boy Stamps

There’s a new release today from Scrappy Boy Stamps and it’s introducing me with this set called Summer With My Gnomies! There is also a sandcastle challenge so check those details out HERE. Sean asked if I could draw a summer beach theme for a few gnomes and I took up the offer. I have four cards to share and here is my first …

I stamped the sand castle in a no-lines color then all the accessories with a light gray color. I colored the sea first using the techniques that I taught in my coloring class a couple weeks ago. It’s the same theory with a different shape to the shore line. Then I colored the sand castle and finally added some color accents with the accessories. Is that crab enjoying the shade of the castle or lurking waiting for the right moment to ambush a sea turtle? I wonder! Maybe the seagull is too but I told him to be nice today.

Pigs Can Fly Too from Whimsy Stamp

I couldn’t resist another card today but showing this cute little piglet who has flown the coop. She’s in hog heaven now that she can fly anywhere. Sooie! This is Pigs Can Fly Too from Whimsy Stamps that I drew over a year ago to coordinate with the piglet in Polka Dot Pals Syeda. Do you see the family resemblance? The piglet, not Syeda, silly!

To create this card, I started with the Piggy Background and used it twice to create the background on the slimeline card. I colored it using a brush and distressed inks. Then I used the Slimline Clouds die to create a shaker card out of it. I colored those with a light gray Copic marker. I wanted the Pigs Can Fly Too image to stand out in the foreground so I kept the embellishments simple. I did use the tag die cut from Mason Atlas Jar Die and wrote the “Hog Heaven” sentiment. I love that tag!
