Critters in the Forest

For this project I used Critters in the Forest and Love You S’more from Lawn Fawn and the Merry Word Chipboard from Make it Crafty.  I used some new metal dies to create the winter scene.  Since it was a Christmas card, I wrapped the marshmallow into a gift.

The word chipboards from Make it Crafty and so fun to color and the double layers make it look snazzy on the cards.  I’m going to have to get some more.  😀

Polka Dot Pals Chrissie

This is Polka Dot Pals Chrissie from Little Miss Muffet Stamps which is the one that I used for the face tutorial.  I included that at the bottom so you can pin or bookmark it if you’d like.

For this image I tried to change the light source to come from the lantern.  The clothing was essay to manage but the face was the most difficult.  I pulled up a few images in Google and then tried my best to go against habit and change the way I colored the nose. It isn’t perfect but I like how it turned out.

Come enter in one of your projects into the Anything Goes challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps.  Any stamp, any theme, any project!

Coloring the faces is the best part about these Polka Dot Pals for me and it give me an opportunity to experiment.  Here you can see the side-by-side of the before and after.  The Polka Dot Pals also have ready-made faces that you can add if coloring the whole face is a bit scary.  (the Add-On Faces come in both rubber and digital too!)

Shirley

Here’s a dryer wool ball that I felted a face head and tale on so it would look like Shirley from Shaun the Sheep.  Such a fun show to watch and now this gal and tumble around all day . . . or at least on laundry days.

Love You S’more

For this project I used Love You S’more stamp from Lawn Fawn plus some die cuts from various companies.  The items were stamped on Make It Crafty white paper and then colored with Copics.  I even colored the tree cut out and made it look like an Aspen tree.  This was something simple to color and loads of fun building a since with the metal dies.  This isn’t something I typically do so it was a bit awkward but still enjoyable.

Roses of Love

I restocked some Make it Crafty stamps in the store but I splurged and kept one for myself.  This is Roses of Love colored on Gina K cardstock.  I wanted to focus on using Distress Inks for the background so I kept the rest of the card simple.

Distress Inks: Hickory Smoke, Iced Spruce, Bundled Sage And Peeled Paint
Copics: YG97, 95, 93, 91, V28, 25, 22, 20, BV11

Oak Tree Girl

This cute stamp is Oak Tree Girl from Wee/Whimsy Stamps.  I had fun coloring this one and adding all the autumn leaves.  I’ve been looking for robins when I travel because I remember them from when I was a kid.  I don’t see them here in Texas or maybe they are just seasonal.  Most of the birds that I colored in the past were blue so this was a nice change.

The face is actually the best part for enjoyment.  I love to give extra details and to brighten the eyes so this shows a comparison of a before and after.  The original eyes were used for the pupils and I built up the rest around them with Copics.
