Tweet, tweet, tweet. This is a felted bird I created using the De Witte Engel Birthday Bird kit. It actually has a odd story to go along with him. I purchased the kit about two years ago – it was a beginning kit and would be my first experience with felting. OK, good, this was something I could handle. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. After breaking my needles, I purchased replacements only to loose them. I found other replacement needles but had then lost the bird. Arg! I found the bird a month later but, you guessed it, my needles were now missing. This just wasn’t in the stars for me so I gave up. But not really, as you can plainly see, I found it and my needles a couple weeks ago. Voila!

Jumbo Birthday Snails
I finally finished it! This is Jumbo Birthday Snails (which is a jumbo version of Belated Birthday Snails) from Little Miss Muffet Stamps – if you’ve been on Facebook, you might have seen my back story. I had sent this image in to get a stamp created but it was in the middle of the night. So when the magnesium plate came back, we discovered that I had accidentally ordered it at six inches large. Whoops! That was twice the size to was really suppose to be. LOL.
What else was there to do, but to color it up? So I stamped a couple extra and got a few others involved. Then I preceded to grab my markers and this is what I came up with . . .
I wanted to go for a realistic whimsical look so I looked at snail photos to get an idea of the shell and snail. The middle snail didn’t fit in this theme so I tried to make it look like it was covered with a blanket. Then the streamers were widened and the background was suppose to look like distant foliage. Lastly the ground was colored to look like a tree branch – at least, I hoped that’s what the looks like.
The card measures 6.5″ square so it will have to be one that I personally deliver or something. LOL. My daughter also wanted to color one, so this is her project and what she did with the stamp . . .
Isabella
Here’s an image I’ve been trying to color for years! This is Isabella and is an Emerald Faeries rubber stamp. I was in a bluish-purplish mood but I’m not sure I like the outcome. I’ll have to use a different color next time. The sentiment and butterflies are a chipboard embellishments from Make it Crafty.
I have a bunch of colored images that I’m going through and it feels nice to get some quick projects done. The image I’m coloring on right now has been a long process with a few minutes here and there. Hopefully I’ll get it done soon, but in the mean time, you can enjoy these other quick projects. Hope you have a great Sunday!
Polka Dot Pals Lottie
I’m joining in the challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps today, and we’re playing Bingo! I went diagonally on the Bingo board and included decorative paper, a LMM stamp, and diecuts.
This is Polka Dot Pals Lottie that I colored after an image that Nicky had brought to the event. I loved the whimsical feel of her project and she stepped me through how to create that look on this stamp. She had taken a workshop from Megan K. Suarez Fine Art. I think she turned out great, and that was all help to Nicky – thank you!
Dimensions Craft Fox
Here are some more fun felting projects that I did with my girls. These foxes were created from kits. The one I did is a “Dimensions Craft Fox” and the girls use the “Klutz Felted Friends” kit. It was a fun project to do together. This guy’s not for throwing and I think I’ll put him on my craft desk to watch over me. 😀
I have yet to tell them the felting joke… you know, the one right? You point to anything (that isn’t felted) and ask them if that’s felt. When they say no, then touch it, and say “well, it is now.” Hardy-har-har
Girl with Rose
This is a hÄnglar & stÄnglar stamp from the Messenger Kit 26 set. I can only assume her name is Girl with Rose but I actually don’t know. Anyway, she was fun to color and I used my pencils to work on this one. This was another one I colored back at the Texas Coloring Retreat.
I gave this gal a detailed face. Usually, the dots on the stamp are used as the pupil in the eyes, but this time, I used them for the center edges of the eyes. I also colored her dress with some black seeds so it looked like a strawberry dress. Hope you enjoy and have a great Sunday!
