Did you know? Charles “Charlie” Brown is the main protagonist in the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz. Charlie Brown and his creator have a common connection in that they are both the sons of barbers, but whereas Schulz’s work is described as the “most shining example of the American success story”, Charlie Brown is an example of “the great American un-success story” in that he fails in almost everything he does.

Tori & Adam

I made this card using both Tori and Adam from Simply Betty Stamps for the 4th Day of Christmas Challenge. The challenge is to create a card or project based on the theme “Sugar & Spice and everything Scary!” I used Lonely Tree in the background and added snowflakes to look like the first snowfall of the year. The scary part is knowing your little daughter is growing up!

Did you know? Drinking water or potable water is water of sufficiently high quality that can be consumed or used without risk of immediate or long term harm. Water is necessary for most life on Earth. Humans can survive for several weeks without food, but for only a few days without water. Did you know? Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy role-playing game first published in 1974 and is widely regarded as the beginning of modern role-playing games and the role-playing game industry. D&D departs from traditional wargaming and assigns each player a specific character to play instead of a military formation. These characters embark upon imaginary adventures within a fantasy setting. A Dungeon Master serves as the game’s referee and storyteller, while also maintaining the setting in which the adventures occur.

Did you know? Edith Louisa Cavell was a British nurse, humanitarian and spy. She is celebrated for helping some 200 Allied soldiers escape from German-occupied Belgium during World War I, for which she was arrested. She is well-known for her statement that “patriotism is not enough.” Her strong Anglican beliefs propelled her to help all those who needed it, both German and Allied soldiers. She was quoted as saying, “I can’t stop while there are lives to be saved”. Cavell was also an influential pioneer of modern nursing in Belgium.
